Our family has been helping to furnish homes for over 130 years. It all began in 1893, when our great-grandparents opened their first retail furniture store at 16 West Street. From that small storefront, they built a reputation for quality merchandise, fair pricing, and exceptional customer service - values that continue to guide us today.
In the early 1900’s, their four sons joined the business, expanding both the operation and its reach. Through hard work and integrity, the family name became synonymous with fine furniture and trusted service.
During the 1980’s, the fourth generation entered the business, carrying forward the family’s enduring passion for home furnishings. With each generation, the commitment to making homes more beautiful and comfortable remained constant - even as styles, technologies, and consumer lifestyles evolved.
By the 1950’s, the third generation - four grandsons - took the helm. They transformed the family business into a premier furniture destination, showcasing some of the nation’s most respected high-end brands and creating inspiring home environments that reflected timeless quality and style.
Today, more than 130 years later, that same spirit lives on through 16 West. Our new company designs, develops, and markets stationary and motion upholstery collections that combine comfort, style and value. We partner with leading retailers and distributors to bring our products to homes across the United States and Canada.
